The Benjamin Rush Society is the premier giving society of Rush Medical College. The Benjamin Rush Society honors alumni and friends of Rush Medical College who make annual gifts of $2,000 or more for use within the college.
Gifts from BRS members are used to support Summer Research Fellowships for first- and second-year students, enhance Rush’s nationally recognized community service programs for students at all levels of study and provide scholarships for our entire medical college population. The society’s support reinforces the work being done at Rush Medical College and inspires other Rush alumni to add to that support.
If you are not yet a member of the Benjamin Rush Society, but would like to support Rush Medical College in its mission to educate the next generation of physicians — or if you are a member and would like to renew your membership for this fiscal year — please visit our secure online giving site or contact the Office of Alumni Relations at (312) 942-2569.
Origins of the Benjamin Rush Society
Established at the time of Rush’s reactivation in 1969, the Benjamin Rush Society began with a 10-year commitment from alumnus R. Lincoln Kesler (RMC 1936), MD. The society recognizes alumni, faculty and friends who make annual gifts to the college. Currently the Benjamin Rush Society comprises 245 faculty, house staff, friends and alumni members. Total alumni membership is more than 100 and growing. Thanks to their continued annual support, the medical college continues to vigorously pursue its mission of educating leaders for the health care environments of the future.
